Two Paths

One very nice feature to this model from WingNut Wings is that is is actually several small models in one.  So while I wait for glue to set or paint to dry; I can easily work on another portion.  I have again made some seat cushions out of Milliput.  I am not thrilled with those results at the moment but I will see how they look after some sanding and paint.

This is a better shot of my spark plugs.  The second set turned out better.  I have done some work on the cylinder head.

Work on the engine is coming along nicely.  While it is not perfect; I am happy with the results so far.

While taking a break from the engine, I have continued work on the internal structure of the cockpit.  This is just a dry fit since I want to install the seat and probably the seat belts before I close this all up.

Back to Work

Well I have been away for a while.  Holidays, computer crashes, missing supplies have all contributed to keeping me busy with other things.  I haven't done a thing on my Pfalz in months.  Fortunately the group build has been extended for a month so I have a chance of getting it done.

I started working on the cockpit.

It is amazing how well this kit is engineered.  There are many very small and very detailed parts and they all just drop together.

I am making my first try at spark plugs.

I used 0.4mm brass tube and the same line that I use for rigging.  I also used nuts from VectorCut.  I have switched to brass tube from Albion Alloys it is a very nice product.  I have installed these in the engine so one side is done.

I left the 'wires' plain thinking a copper effect would be nice, but now I think I need to blacken them.

This is it for now; more to come soon.
